Seeing as you’re here, why not find out a little bit more about the face behind the laptop?
My story? Well, I’ve always been a bit of a geek. When my friends were enjoying themselves playing video games after school (those were the days), I would sit in my bedroom writing articles in the hopes that once I was old enough to begin my career, I would have enough experience to become a journalist.
While my life moved in a slightly different direction, those skills led me to where I am now. I loved reading and discovering new stories. My obsessive mind would conjure up all kinds of mythical fantasies and would often wander away in maths and science – two of my most loathed subjects.
I’ve always had the ability to write. But it’s not until recently that I really started to think seriously about a career as a freelance copywriter. Now, I could bore you with tales of my story inside the 9 to 5, but I know that’s not what you’re here for. So, let me entertain you for a minute with the fun bits:
The good stuff…
- I LOVE cats. I proudly refer to myself as a ‘crazy cat lady in the making’ – and I even have a cat tattoo on my right foot to prove it.
- I’ve done two ski seasons and try to head to the mountains every year if I can. If it wasn’t for the fact I quickly ran out of money (ski seasons are expensive!), I’d still be out there, roaming the slopes in some snowy corner of the world.
- I spent the best part of my content marketing career at UK fashion brand FatFace, running email campaigns, writing blogs and product descriptions, and planning content. Not gonna lie, talking about clothes every day was pretty cool.
- Like most freelancers, I’m a classic introvert. But hand me a cup of tea and I’ll talk for hours.
If you like what you hear, don’t hesitate to drop me a message, even if it’s for a friendly chat. Thanks for taking the time to get to know my story.
WHAT MY CLIENTS ARE SAYING…
Luke Sutton, Monocrhome
"Lorna has supported my business with creative writing for 8 months and has become a most valuable resource. She’s my secret weapon when it comes to writing captivating blog articles and compelling product descriptions, and has saved me countless hours poised over my keyboard with a vacant mind and a blank expression."
Amy Pritchett, MyDatingAdviser
"Lorna is a professional, reliable, and quick-witted copywriter. She consistently delivers projects on time, and never misses a deadline. She has the ability to simplify the most complex issues and nail the first brief. She is so organised that each job with her has been an absolute breeze. Lorna is also kind and understands the value of building strong working relationships. It is clear she values her own personal growth as well and is continually sharing new ideas and learnings. I will continue to recommend her to anyone in need of a good copywriter!"
Sarah Heath, Solstice Bookkeeping
"Lorna is fabulous! She understands us and our business and can put our ideas into the perfect words, tone, and style to reach our target audience. We've had an increased number of customer enquiries since working with Lorna, even during lockdown! We're bookkeepers, so whilst we're great with numbers, it's lovely to have someone working with us who's great with words as very often, I know what I want to say but don't know how to say it!"
"I am so happy with my new drum lesson website, and that’s down to Lorna’s amazing ability to turn conceptual ideas into written form. I couldn’t be happier with the final product and I would highly recommend Lorna to anyone reading this. She is brilliant! She’s been a delight to work with from start to finish, she’s super quick to answer emails and is so reassuring. I can’t recommend her enough!"
